Imperial Certified Intelligence Authority Records: Province 40g-The Bryiancz - Stoyvic Solar Union and el Acero Enlace/ the Steel Bond
In these days, given how our Imperium has suffered from threats within and without, it is of little doubt that our mighty fleets will not reach Province 40g in my lifetime again. However, we will reach this province again, making our Sovereign Imperial State whole once more.
It is for this day I work to prepare.
First surveyed in from 544-548 Post Diaspora, the DiTimeo-Kyrgsov Nebula region was found to have a surprisingly high density of habitable planets, but at the same time due to some of the celestial factors around it, they were mostly resource poor. Released in the late 2nd Exodus Cycle, they were dumped on a market already saturated with richer planets. As a result, the buyers they found were minor states, ideological outcasts, and assorted refugees, resulting in a region is eclectic with no single ethnicity driving the culture.
Regional Epoch I: From 652 PD, with the first settlements until 1315 PD, we encounter the first Regional Epoch, defined by being ignored, by each other and by external powers. Nominally subservient to the Imperial apparatus, I have found evidence in the Department of Fiduciary Truths no more than three payments throughout this period for taxes, two of which were pittances, and one appears to be what could best be described as second hand clothing...which was burned in compliance with best practices.
The Simbulian Trust, which first discovered the planets, attempted to build some value out of their discovery by hosting the Celestial Union of the DiTimeo-Kyrgsov (the CUD). Ineffective, given the pitiful populations existing within the region, surprising number of bandits which arose in the domain, aggravated by an absolute lack of Imperial Naval presence, it eventually disbanded due to lack of interest, declawed by 1180 PD, but formally dissolved in 1315, ending the Epoch.
Candidly, upon the dissolution not much changed. Many planets had experienced severe technological degradation, unstable populations, periodic civil wars, and sufficient plague to bring questions as to whether they may have been linked to the Aurbauch Question causing problems not twenty jumpgates spinward. As many as a third of the planets experienced collapse of their central authority, perhaps half of those due to the complete collapse of population.
Regional Epoch II: Finds us in a period of poor documentation, which is always disappointing to find in the record, sadly though not uncommon. From 1315 to 2280 we know next to nothing, though we seek funding to actually visit the province for the first time to resolve these questions. Forms have been submitted, but after twelve years expectations have degraded.
Regional Epoch III: The Wiltchyr Fragments speak of the final defeat of one of those Locust Colony expeditions around 2280, but while unclear of the actual impacts, it was not without cost. As a result of this event communications began in an informal communion of ideas between the powers of the period. This would be unfortunate, as these discussions resulted in some form of alliance by 2371 when the Roxpierre Expedition of Reunion arrived, itself a smaller arm of the Rimward Reunion Expedition XII. Underestimating local resolve, the imperial forces were defeated and expelled from the region by 2384, mostly due to a man going by the name of Stomare.
Capitalizing on his success we see references soon after to High Baron Stomare II, but whether this is the the same or a descendant, it is unclear by the record. Most of the district remains under his control through five crown successions, until another Stomare (Victoria Exult Stomare III) begins either a succession battle or the start of the legitimate revolt. Though the war is long, eventually genocide of the Stomares ends the conflict for good
Regional Epoch IV: By 2511 we see the arrival of the Syncretic Common. Most systems joined, keeping domestic government while joining the greater common. No single power would dominate the Common, though many would try. First and foremost was the start of the BSSU, rooted in the 2691 Byriancz plebiscite, resulting in a running, quiet qr with the Jasceri Trade Interests for the next two centuries until the Jasceri would join the BSSU. The Steel Bond through this period would start to serve as a non-aligned pact, serving as a counterweight to the naked materialism of the BSSU. Various small powers would arise, though not for any extended period, resulting in the BSSU owning a full third of the domain, the other third coalescing around the Steel Bond, and the last third desperately holding on to various forms of independence.
Current Epoch: 2870 to Present: Under the cloak of a Cold War, the two powers have stared each other down, at a form of detant until the arrival of the Volsungs.
Located Rimward of 40f, now an independent region known as the Volsung Confederation, Spinward of the Grey Gap (41b), Anti-Spinward of the Free People’s Movement (40b). Further Rimward has shown little settlement, though data from this region has been difficult to locate.
Current cartographical surveys this humble office has been able to acquire, show 43 systems in what is formally known as Provence 40g.
With 43 Registestered systems, only 33 retain significant inhabitation, with many of those vacant or insignificant populations Corward and adjacent to the Volsungs. Of the remaining systems, the majority are split between two competing powers, The Corporate Democratic state of the Bryiancz-Stoyvic Solar Unity and the Oligarchial Steel Bond.
Bryiancz-Stoyvic Solar Unity: currently claims fifteen systems, but five of these are claims without any significance, five lay claim to a combined population of under five million, and the remaining five are the only ones worthy of note:
Bryiancz - 4.4 Billion Polish
Stoyvic - 1.2 Billion Kikuyu/Czech
Youxie Wuwu - 800 Million Szechuan Chinese
La Espoir - 2.2 Billion Quebecois
Tuchov - 400 Million Belarusian/Polish
With a government endorsed Orthodox Humanist religion serving to hold the region together they’ve developed little, if anything, in the way of central government, relying on the Corporations and the incorporated Jasceri Free Trade House Fleets to provide for most central needs. It is unclear how this state in its current form can be expected to survive much longer, even with the subliminal augmented propaganda currently in place.
Militarily they are weak and the recommended as a first target for any expedition in the region. They do not have enough naval resources to seriously protect the few mineral rich planets in the region that they own. My last inventory shows them with a large fleet of auxiliaries, armed merchants, and escorts, perhaps as many as 300 vessels, but no more than 22 of these are Capital Vessels, and most of those obsolete.
el Acero Enlace: Unlike their rival, the Steel Bond doesn’t claim systems, it merely invites its neighbors to join. Given the diametric differences between their government and most representative republics in the region, it’s not surprising that they’ve not exploded, however they’ve somehow cobbled together a rather solid confederation of smaller states including:
San Judas Tadeo - 700 Million Chilean
San Ignatius Loyola - 1.6 Billion Chilean
Santa Bilbana - 1.1 Billion Ecuadorian
Homestead - 800 Million Irish and Eastern African
Anzagreb - 300 Million Pakistani
Jahangir - 600 Million Pakistani
Lamasone - 700 Million Burmese
Tanit - 2.4 Billion Tunisian
Cruz Amarillo - 140 Million Mexican
Cruz Amarillo - 140 Million Mexican
Religiously diverse, with Popular Catholicism, One Home Faith, and 3rd Synod Free Shi'ism being the largest, realistically the largest religion is the state. They have had limited tests in their current form, but have thus far been rather stable. Only time will tell about their long term viability.
Navally they are still expanding their naval presence, having only completed their second naval yard, however, they’ve been aggressively purchasing ships from Core Powers. This has resulted in some 31 Capital Ships on their rolls, with one of their two shipyards dedicated to building Stalwart Class Battlecruisers. Escorts are harder to pin down in numbers, perhaps approaching 100.
Remaining systems are independent systems with no navy to speak.
It is my believe analyzing census data and demographic trends, that the region, including its neighboring provinces, may start to experience exodus pressures at the same time their young states are peaking in maturity. I expect the pressures to assert control over habitable worlds, given the general loss of terraforming technologies in the region, will spark a war within my lifetime.
Ultimately i recommend export of subsidized weaponry and ammunition, including limited WMD sales, to both sides under the cloak of third parties. This will accelerate resolution of the logical ultimate expected resolution.
By my hand, this year, 13.11.3004 PD
Your Loyal Servant
Li Dao
